Miranda turned and looked at him sharply. "You are becoming a burden by refusing my help!" She snapped.

"Wh-What do you mean?" Ariel asked softly.

Elizabeth lent forward and planted a kiss on his lips.

---

"Oh please." Ayama rolled her eyes.

Euchre stumbled as he was dragged along. "I am sorry master I usually tended to my own wounds. I kind of know about injuries now."

"My generation failed at creating peace. Maybe yours can succeed where mine has failed." She replied and as she finished her sentence multiple airplanes flew overhead and toward the ships.

---

He froze as color filled his face.

---

He grinned. "Do you think you can help me after this." Kill replied as he examined the room.

Elizabeth pulled away and smiled softly.

---

"Yes." Ayama sighed deeply. "Yes, I can."

---

Ariel bit her lip as she looked up at the airplanes. She took hold of the womans hand and held it tightly.

---

"Don't call me master." Miranda said. "Its Miranda, or Mandy."

Jin'ichi looked at her red faced. "There goes my vow of chastity." He joked and began to feel the pain on his body.

"Than I will help you as best I can. I'm sorry for what I caused. All the people I've seen died were completely in vain." He replied.

---

Ari began to lead her away and watched as they engaged the enemy. "I don't know what is happening but we need to get somewhere safe."

Katsu grunted and lifted Rain's body.

"But thats informal!" He cried out. "I owe you respect!" He replied as he coughed again.

"I'm sorry." Elizabeth said. "I didn't know. I just... I'm sorry."

Ayama nodded. "Sometimes it happens."

---

"Is he going to be okay?" Ariel asked softly.

---

"Then respect my wishes." Miranda said.

"Its fine. I'm a very rare exception..." He smiled and looked around them. "I believe the people are safe. This city is also known for its underground tunnel system." He replied as he limped forward. "We just have to raise its defenses."

Kill looked at her. "So are we ready than? Will you still want to use me?"

---

Katsu grinned and revealed his back. The back of his coat was drenched with red and as he returned to face he didn't show any grimace of pain. "I protected his body with mine. He should be fine if we can get him to a doctor." Katsu glanced at Ari. "I'd advise my leader to take Rain to safety since their both drastically injured."

Ari just looked at Katsu. "Lets just all go I can't risk you out there alone without Jin'ichi."

Euchre nodded. "Very well... I just fear what others will do." He replied as they entered the city. Immediately people stared at them oddly. Some had angered expressions while others were utterly confused.

Before she could walk any further a guard handed her a leash. "Keidran are supposed to be bound."

Euchre smiled worriedly and grabbed the collar and placed it around his neck.

"He is." Miranda said. "I have got his hand." She took the collar off him. "He will not harm anyone without my word. He is about as vicious as anew born kitten at present. Once a proper doctor has cared for him, then I will think about placing a collar on him. But until then we will continue on our way."

"It was just a kiss." Elizabeth said. "Its not like we actually had sex, so It shouldn't count."

"I want your help, yes." Ayama said.

Ariel bit her lip. "Will you be okay?" She asked Katsu.

"Just be careful." The officer nodded. "People here fear them." He turned his head too a couple children who hustled away into their homes. "They are used as a sort of boogeyman around here and aren't very welcome. I caution you that Keidran who are unchained have been viciously attacked. I've had 3 in the last week and I believe it is a horrid crime but a good amount of people here have prejudices against them and won't give us any information on who has done such things. Even fellow Keidran are afraid to tell us in fear of their lives." The officer nodded. "Of course I try to do everything I can. As the lead officer I can only try to make everyone safe even with these unjust rules." He replied as he walked off towards the direction of some men who stared at the group. He turned and looked at Miranda. "There is a doctor who treats his kind in the central district of the Luniper building." He walked away again. "By the way my name Is Staf." He replied.

Euchre turned toward Miranda questioningly. "Kitten?" His ears perked. "I don't mind wearing a collar really. I prefer a collar rather than my head detached to my body."

"You don't understand my kind much." Jin'ichi smiled. "We usually don't have males and we are usually supposed to be strict in helping our kind in any way possible. I was banished, and even though I continued to do the things out of habit I was never supposed to be a part of them since I failed to do my job and give up my life for the council." Jin'ichi replied. "We are supposed to be strict warriors but I didn't do my job. I tried meditation and starving myself of everything... I think its nice to actually cherish something in life."

"Well what can I do?" Kill asked as he tried to open the door of the room.

---

Katsu grunted. "I can't feel anything. All my nerve endings stopped sending pain responses to my body. Instead they pump adrenaline to deal with the pain. The only reason I live is to murder other individuals. The only pain I really have is when I go on for too long without action and than I get a little impatient and angry." He replied and looked at the ships in the sky. "But as of now, I think I'll be completely fine with all this."

"Come on Kitten." Miranda too hold od his arm and began to drag him off. "You heard the nice officer. Wé're going to find Staf."

Elizabeth shook her head. "You may need to explain it to me in detail when we're free of this mess."

"Save as many of my people as you can." Ayama said.

Ariel blinked. Most of that went over her head. "You still need to be looked at!" She insisted

Euchre's ears flattened. "I feel as if I'm more of a pet."

"Its nothing you should concern yourself over." He replied.

---

"I'll make sure to do the best I can." He replied. "What will you be doing?"

---

"I'll be fine." He grinned but before his silence ended his shoulder jerked radically and the sound of a shot dashed through the air. Katsu stumbled backwards as new blood left his body.

Ari immediately ordered weapons at her location as she took cover.

Katsu growled as he began losing control of his arm and ducked down with him. Blood dripped from the edges of his fingers.

"I don't want you to." Miranda said. "I want you to feel.. well... human."

"I'm curious." Elizabeth said.

---

"The same thing." Ayama said.

---

Ariel reached out to touch him slowly.

Euchre smiled. "I wished I was human. I don't like being a Keidran." He replied as they entered the square.

"Hm? Why?" Jin'ichi asked as he held Elizabeth down as he heard a shot. "Looks like they are beginning their siege now."

---

"Than lets go." He replied.

---

Katsu shivered and looked down at her. "Don't worry I can't feel it." He replied as he covered his arm up. An airplane passed overhead and dropped a box nearby. A

Ari hurriedly opened the container and pulled out a pair of knives and handed Katsu a large sword.

"Well, even if you don't I do." Miranda smiled and rubbed his ear.

Elizabeth swore. "We have to find my daughter!"

Ayama opened the door.

---

"Are we going to die?" Ariel asked.

Euchre smiled. "Your one strange human being." He replied as he found the building they were lokking for.

---

"I know." Jin'ichi replied as he pulled a gun from his coat and played with his scythed. The gun was short but large and it had a scope. He looked through it to find what was firing at them.

Kill stumbled for the first time out of the room. He couldn't even remember how long he had been in there.

---

"No." Katsu replied as his arm convulsed. "If anyone dies I will gurantee it will be them." He replied as he lifted his short against where he saw the shot and used it as a shield as another shot rang out.

"Alright, in we go." Miranda knocked on the door.

Elizabeth bit her lip and waited.

---

" Try using your legs properly." Ayama commented.

---

Ariel cried out and covered her ears.

A man turned and looked at her through speckled glasses. He had a dark beard that matched his hair and he looked intelligent and rather approachable. He seemed very tired but happy and greeted them as he came in. "Welcome! I'm one of the few in town who heals anyone or anything for any price." He replied as he turned back toward his table. "All you need to do is explain to me what ails you." He turned around again realizing the Keidran wasn't chained and was a bit surprised. He shrugged it off and began working again.

Jin'ichi saw movement from the rubble as well as soldiers scouring the area. "We gotta go now." He exclaimed. "And fast."

Kill laughed. "You kept me in a room without much to do. Even walking is a bit strange now."

---

"Katsu began shoving his sword forward as a barrier. Ari ushered Ariel behind him and dragged Rain. "Stay behind him." Ari replied. Katsu grunted as the steel grinded against the ground and as he hit rubble to big to push aside he stopped and rested before checking some of his equipment.

Miranda looked to her friend. "Tell him whats going on."

"Are you able to?" Elizabeth asked.

Ayama rolled her eyes. "Just come on."

Ariel stuck close to them

"I have eternal bleeding." Euchre scratched the back of his head. "I don't believe it to be severe and it only hurts me when I sleep and take large breaths."

The doctor turned again. "Internal bleeding is never good." He replied as he began examining him he also looked at Miranda. "Why are you kind to him?"

"Not really." Jin'ichi replied as he began too move.

---

Kill followed. He was interested to see where he had been for this time.

---

Katsu stopped as the fired clanged against his makeshift shield. He looked over at Ari who began to set up flares. "We should be rescued soon. Hopefully our aerial team has no troubles." Ari than began to go through her bag. She only had small things and nothing to really go against a sniper but she believed she would be able to distract him.

"Because I don't believe you should be unkind to someone because of who they are." Miranda said. "Until such a time where he does something to me personally, I will not hate him."

Ariel shifted on her feet

The doctor grabbed Euchre and began to work on him. Euchre cringed and flinched as the man removed his clothing and revealed bruises, slashes and cuts all over his body. It seemed all was hit besides his hands or face. Euchre tried to smile but grimaced as the doctor inspected his wounds.

"This is normal Keidran treatment. Your lucky you grabbed him when you did. Seems like they were getting ready to make him dog food or sell him to the nomads which harvest the Keidrans organs while they are still alive." The doctor said as he looked at what appeared to be a bar code on the back of his shoulder. "You must have paid a ridiculous price for him since both parties pay insane amounts."

The doctor turned and began looking in his drawers. "He has unfortunately been train well. I'm saddened though because it doesn't look like he holds it against us humans." He pulled out a few needles and some vials filled with numerous medicines. "I'm even loathed in this city for helping them but I am lucky enough to be kept alive because the slave corporation usually hands me the weak. I try to make them strong and healthy so they may have a chance. I even tried smuggling a few out but even I have paid the price." The man said as he placed some anesthetics into the syringe.

"They killed my family." He said as if it were common chit chat. He poked Euchre with the syringe multiple times and injected it into him. As it began to take affect the doctor ushered Miranda to hold Euchre's head as he began to doze off. As Euchre began to close his eyes the doctor began to treat his wounds.

As he cleaned his wounds he inspected to make sure Euchre was fine. He noticed a bit of blood from his mouth and looked at Miranda. "That is kind of serious but I won't be able to do anything major. I would advise he just heal. If he is still alive he has a chance of completely being fine." The doctor shuffled through his cabinet and handed her some bottles. "Tell him to drink some of it once a day. It seems they had savagely beaten him before you got him. Its most likely internal bleeding but he could have some stomach, heart or lung damage. I'm sorry I can't do anymore but they don't offer me much to work with and yet they always ask for outrageous things. All his exterior wounds should be fine but I warn you again that anything internal could eventually kill him. If he means that much to you than I would recommend going to a city that will actually help his kind. No one here has the power to give me what I need. So all I can do is offer any help I can."

The doctor readjusted his glasses. "He should reawaken any moment now. If you have any questions please ask me." The doctor turned and began to work on a few herbs and plants he set on the table. He began to extract liquid from two leaves in front of him.

Ari growled and looked at Katsu. "Take her and Rain and dash for it. I'll try to be a distraction." Ar replied as she looked over as a shot skimmed across the cover they were behind.

Katsu agreed and grabbed Ariel in one hand and Rain in the other. As he stood Ari did the same and began to fire Flares erratically towards the general area of the sniper. They exploded in sparks and scattered around the ground wildly.

Jin'ichi saw the sparks. "Over there." He replied and immediately picked Elizabeth and began to charge forward. Jin'ichi grunted and gasped as he could feel his insides rock as he moved forward but as the pain began to grow unbearable he began nearing the sparks.

Miranda gently stroked Euchre's hair as she looked up from his face. She met the doctors. " What cities would you reccomend for the best treatment?"

Ariel cried out and closed her eyes. She just wanted to go home. She started to cry.

---

"Stop running damn it!" Elizabeth snapped. "You're going to kill yourself!"

"Unfortunately that isn't good news either. The only place with technology that advance and common is any city within the league of nations. They have gone quiet recently and no one knows what they are up too but for technology the league of nations territory is it." He replied as he turned back to her. "What is your bond with him?" He asked. "What do you see in him?" He asked her curiously.

"Also the closest city that is a part of them is Nueva which is only north of here but its highly defended and traders were prevented from going in weeks ago. No idea whats happening but if they allow you in they will treat your Keidran politely and have equal rights for anyone. They would most likely treat him for free as well."

"I'm trained for this. Its what we do." He replied and he soon realized what Ari was doing and he instantly turned around as a bullet smashed against his shoulder and caused him to collapse onto the ground. As soon as he did Katsu appeared beside them and moved them quickly behind cover. Katsu panted heavily and looked at the other two. "Its been quite an exciting day isn't it?" Katsu grinned as if this was the time of his life. He revealed Ariel to Elizabeth and gently placed Rain on the ground. Rain was finally beginning to move and cursed angrily. Jin'ichi looked even worse as his marks on his skin began to glow a dark blue as he grasped his shoulder.

MIranda nodded. "Then we will go there. I thank you for your help."

"Oh my girl." Elizabeth breathed before holding her daughter close to her. She rocked her gently and stroked her blond hair. She hummed a small tune of comfort.

"Your welcome." He replied and pulled out a picture from his drawer. It was him hugging what looked like a female version of Euchre. He was much younger and seemed much more peaceful. A scruffy looking kid looked up at the two and gave a toothy grin.

Euchre began to move again and he seemed dazed. He tried to gain his balance but wasn't exactly accurate.

Katsu looked around and made sure to give them their solitude. He looked for any way out and saw gunfire in the distance but it was quiet. After Ari's flare gun distraction it seemed to freak all the snipers out.

Miranda pushed him back down before looking to the doctor. "That your family?" She asked.

---

Elizabeth looked to them. "Are we good to move?"
