Ayama gave him a small smile. "All of us have had things done to us that we didn't want." She told him gently. "I'm not going to judge you or treat you any different. If I was, I would have killed you outright."

"No..." Ariel sighed as she clung to her mother. She had formed an attachment to the man.
Elizabeth nodded at the woman. "Its not something that we are unused to."

"Detain them and I will eradicate at least fifty of you." Katsu replied as the Alundra surrounded them.

"Woah, wait a second." The Doctor intervened as he tossed his bag to the floor. "I've helped your kind in as much ways as possible. I paid for medical treatment for your ill and have brought more supplies, I have just transferred letters from loved ones out in combat to your loved ones, I also helped build this relationship and helped you remain independent. If you think you will touch a friend of mine you will highly offend me" the Doctor replied as he coughed. "If these people cause you trouble I will put my honor and trust on the line."

The Alundra backed away after his speech and seemed to return to a normal state. The fire dwindled before the woman before them and her purple eyes scanned them. "Welcome to Icra." She responded as she moved out of their way.

"Don't worry about them." The Doctor replied as he grabbed more of his supplies and began to drag them out. "They have just been on edge because of what has been happening with the world currently. They are just afraid." The Doctor replied as he looked at Shiruba. "Should check that shoulder for you soon. You might bleed to death from that and your hand."

"I wouldn't let you just kill me." Pain replied as he walked next to her as a beetle crawled from her sleeve. "We all can be dangerous but we can be protective as well." He replied as he continued on. "I used my strongest insects to save you from being crushed. Of course not all can survive and I dont expect you to guarantee us that lie but if you can promise us a future worth fighting for I will try."

The boy tried to hide his wing under his shirt.

"That's why I despise you two. Going at it only for war or simple ambitions. Ayama didn't build that city for you two to disgust it with warfare but to harbor soldiers to build a society they could protect and call their own. Outside of the governments that ordered them to die by the plenty. Instead, you run headless with small gangs that threaten civilians and helped cause a problem you blindly believe you didn't create." Liquid replied as he watched Miranda.

"Well, what should we call you?" Steele asked as she looked at the two. "I haven't met a prisoner that talked this much without torture and I'm a bit skeptical since you arrived with that man."

Euchre was watching the events as they talked and the soldiers geodetic hold as many back as they could.

"I can promise you that where I live, that is our peace." Ayama told him. "We love outside governments and regimes that try to force us to die for their silly squabbles. We are not our own country, but we live to protect our own. Not to spread our borders. We all have skills that we use to bring in food, clothing and medicine. We are left well enough alone."

"We are the Assassins and the Thieves." Amaterasu said as she walked up beside her friend and the new group.

The man laughed and wiped away a tear. "Oh, if my mother heard you speak so highly she would kneel over." He smiled up at Liquid. "You're ruining my plan. Look, leave the city alone okay?" He said as he looked back at the woman. "We have families in there, and innocents who escape to get away from people like you. But we are not without defenses. Most of us are creations of mad men. Their experiments if you will."

Miranda saw Liquid watching her and she turned away.

"No." Elizabeth frowned at them. "We are entering their safe haven. They can do to us what they wish if it makes them feel safe. Acting hostile and defensive will only cause more to be suspicious of us and wish us dead."

"If you need to sacrifice my life in any possible way I will allow you to freely do so." Pain replied. "I don't see myself as much use to this world and ridding myself will erase the memories of experiments that they brutally used on others to end with me." Pain stroked an insect which was far larger and brightly colored. It sat in the palm of his hand as he continued to walk.

"I don't speak highly but if you diminish yourself then I will let it be." Liquid replied.

"Plan? I simply cannot allow you to harbor Federation agents who violate our civilians and decimate them." She replied. "I understand that you have families but we do a well. They are the ones suffering from the crops being poisoned. We have an army that far outweighs your city and although you have defense we have men willing to fight against those that wronged us."

Euchre stepped in between all of them. He looked at each. "Why don't all of you unite to attack the city of Dim Kun?" He asked. "The city is a rival of the city of thieves. It is the place which thrives in the slave trade market and captures and harbors innocent people, it is also a large ally to the Chinese Federation in this region and holds many of the prisoners from The League or Assassin guilds. The only reason it hasn't been annexed to the Federation is because of the city of thieves. It caused you all problems and while the League cannot wage war with Dim Kun because it would lead to all out warfare with the Thieves and Liquid's forces they could easily attack while the Federation cannot interfere. Especially if the League cuts off contact with the city and surrounds it so the Federation cannot invade without fear of full warfare." Euchre replied.

Liquid just watched as Steele closed her eyes and listened.

"No, we respect what the doctor has done for us and, unlike your society, we value people's words and if he betrays our trust he will have to build it again on his own." The woman replied as she stood out of the way.

"Don't worry just forgive them." The doctor replied as he began to gather his equipment and drag it out of the train. "They usually aren't this tense its just the situation outside which has been bothering them. The powers humans originally gained from genetic engineering came from experiments on the Alundra and I believe they have the right to be this defensive especially with something that resembles the war before it." The doctor replied to Elizabeth. "I will put the trust they have in me on the line." He replied. "To them it means much more than monetary systems or items. They hold people's honor highly because those without it usually try desperately to get it back."

The Doctor replied. "They don't have a heirachy that depends on blood lines or power but by those who have earned the respect of the community they live in and I have tried for years to gain as much as possible to continue operations like this." The Doctor replied.

"Just be calm. If your a friend of Shiruba I believe you to be fine. Even if you hang with someone who would rip me in half if it didn't endanger you." The doctor replied looking at Katsu as Shiruba followed behind gripping his own shoulder as it bled.

"We did not poison anything." The man said, still stuck on that. "If anything we would have stolen crops."

"Are they just in you, or do you collect them?" Amaterasu asked.

"I wouldn't say I am a friend of his." Elizabeth said, looking back at Shiruba.
Ariel reached out and clung to Katsu.

Steele ripped a side of her shirt and exposed her shoulder. She began to unwrap the tissue that wrapped around her arm and exposed the flesh underneath. It was darkened and grey and looked completely unhealthy compared to the rest of her skin. She covered it up and readjusted her shoulder. "Our intelligence says otherwise. We don't believe it is you directly but spies harbored by you. How we can prove that is through some prisoners we caught trying to mess with our water supply. They were not taking any of it. They were poisoning it. We originally thought it was a plague until that incident and soon we began to realize that the way it spread and how it was obtained was definitely through people wishing to destroy us. We have remained silent for years and have never had a problem with the borders. We wouldn't have even cared until what has happened to us." She replied.

"A mix of both..." Pain replied. "I am basically a human hive and unlike standard humans I have insects who regulate my bother and accomplish things like destroy diseases or rapidly heal me. They have generally replaced my blood cells." He replied. "These bugs were actually released by the government a long time ago to test how bugs could spread diseases as a biological weapon." He replied. "There are plenty and they can become accustomed and if I find a queen I find interesting I take it and it lives with me. I currently have eleven queens. They do radically different things. This once controls the swarms I use to attack while another tightens my body to take impacts. It is pretty interesting. I don't necessarily control them but they will defend their home with their life. To protect you is a whole other process. I needed to place this queen on you to force them to defend you. They did all they could. I feel bad when I kill some like that but at times they use me the same way. It is a mutually beneficial relationship."

"Well, I don't care. You seem nice to me." The doctor replied. "Plus, I find it hilarious you shot him as well. Surprised he didn't kill you so you must mean something to him." The doctor replied. "My names Zed. I used to be a doctor that traveled the borders. Forgive me of my dark humor its just something I've always had."

Shiruba just looked back silently and helped grab some bags with his injured arm.

Katsu was a bit surprised but carefully held his sword and exited the train and stretched. "I could take them if anything happens." Katsu grinned.

The Alundra didn't seem happy with the response but did not reply.

"And you didn't once think that they were using us as a scape goat to hide the real perpertraiter?" The man asked. "I mean, we are the easiest people to blame."

Ayama nodded. "Well, I am thankful."

Elizabeth nodded. "I find it relaxing after everything we have been through."

"We have studied this for a long period. We wouldn't launch a massive attack if we didn't have overwhelming evidence." Steele replied.

"I say we listen to the Keidran." Liquid replied. "We remove an enemy of all of us. It affects the Chinese Federation directly and should slow any infiltration efforts while it also rids a nuisance for the city of thieves."

"Yea... I'm glad I had some worth." He replied as he looked at the Haggard. "So what of you?" He looked at Ayama.

"It will definitely be fine here." The doctor replied as they entered the small city. The occupants of the train slowly began to enter around them as Alundra watched them. Some shy while others welcoming and yet others seemed to despise them.

"It is a peaceful place but remember much has happened."

Elizabeth nodded. "I will."

"What of me?" Ayama asked.

"Excuse me, we're discussing something here." The man said to Liquid. "The fact that she's blaming us for something we had no actual hand in, We do not want to poison and kill off large numbers. Thats just idiotic, and you're idiotic to believe it."

"The current Pontiff of the new church has unfortunately died this past weekend. His two successors, Huluhot and Deridian will become the new leaders of the faith until the individual priests and congregation decide who will finally lead. Huluhot was born in the border regions of the city of Iona. Before the war he was a scholar and priest and during the conflict he provided help to children and the innocent and discouraged violence. He has since move to the Core country and helped it develop and has even become the general of religion under Lee's rule. Deridian was born in the former United Nations territory and studied music and medicine. He was forced to move as his city was split when Federation forces took half of it over. Surprisingly, although the city is in Federation hands the other half still belongs to the League and is funded by tunnels that go under the border. Deridian has since created schools and tried to create a future in which the youth will lead the way..."

Saze just watched and looked over at Lee as the broadcast continued. His thin lenses covering the bottom of his eyes as he began to speak. "The economy is of course affected by the war and trade and imports are drastically down but I have found a way to increase profits by selling outdated arms to the rebels. It should help in what is currently happening now. I just find it interesting now since you have someone else with as much power as you have in this city. Huluhot feeds the hungry and shelters the homeless as you spend a pretty penny on gigantic feasts and luxurious houses. What is more interesting is that they do not blame you. They blame the league and the war for their troubles and you now have the spot to gain total control. Of course, what will you do with the generals. Olga already escaped afteryou tried to send an assassin group against her and a few other generals are planning on leaving while others simply do not care. Of course some question you andmay end up in killing you. I have built your nation through funds. As another General I would hate to watch it go to waste."

"I know you despise me but I am not that bad. Just a bit crazy. Also, Zed's the name if I haven't already told you." The doctor replied as he opened his hand towards Elizabeth.

Katsu just began to limp as his injuries truly began to show while Shiruba followed closely behind.

"I don't expect you to be some normal person. With Stranges interest and your abilities I expect you to be more than just skills. What is your past?" Pain asked.

"You should know the Assassins code. Nothing is sacred and that even includes you. I don't believe you have any involvement but that you are probably tainted by those with other goals." Liquid replied as he sat on a crate.

Steele just watched. "I didn't just tack this on you. If you believe I would just set an entire invasion on no evidence than you are blind." She growled.

Lee frowned. "If I wished for Olga to be dead, I would not send simple assassins after her." He said. "I find it humiliating that people are blaming me for it. What troubles me is this religious movement." He sat down and held onto his chin. "You'd think that they would be past the whole need for a God." he sighed. "We will keep with the feasts, as it is the rich who fund is and we make ore from them then we spend on them."

Elizabeth just looked at his hand. "I do not care to know your name, and I do not care about your sanity. What I wish is for my daughter and I to be left in peace."

"You are blind for believing it!" The man snapped. "My mother would never let someone with impure intentions into our operation. She has a way of knowing and kills them before they can even enter the door. Same goes for if their goals change." He frowned. "You need to open your eyes and see the larger picture then what some circumstantial evidence shows you. We have been everywhere, but we would never poison anything. Not us, and no one from our group or home."

"I was a solider." Ayama said. "One of the damn best out there. I was a General. A captain. I had my own group of men and women which I lead. I was chosen to be the first of many experimentations. We were to be their super soldiers. I was the only successful transfusion of the serum. It had something to do with my beliefs and who I was. My speed increased, as did my strength. I healed at alarming rates and could tell the intentions of those around me. The others weren't so lucky." She sighed softly. "Some became outright monsters. Others would shift between human and monster form. See, the serum didn't only effect the physical, but it fed off the mental. I may have seen bloodshed but I still believed in peace, the people and stopping those that would cause harm. The others had different intentions, or hidden emotions." She smiled softly to pain. "All this was over 700 years ago."

"I sent the best I could but that woman is armed better than your personal guards. She could have caused a riot but I achieved at chasing her away. The public or rich do not know she has disappeared and I will keep her activities up to make sure no one becomes suspicious. She was a very mysterious person but I got some personal files of her and what look like armaments and defenses she planned to make use of. They could help our city and I will get on them immediately. Killing her though, you should have understood from the start that when you wanted us to kill her the best we could do is damage her and remove her from power without causing much chaos. She could have easily created a catastrophic situation so just be grateful she has just left without notice. She actually didn't seem very intrigued at seeking revenge or starting revolts. She simply escaped which is the only thing that worries me." Saze shrugged. "People love to follow blindly. Whether that be you, God or even a unicorn. As long as it is comforting people will believe in you. Why do you think they give up their freedoms so easily? They fear the worst and they find comfort in your leadership. The problem I see is that Huluhot holds a tighter grip than yours." Saze smiled. "People like fighting for your country but when you compare that to an eternally happy afterlife they can gain for killing themselves for a silly belief you will have no chance." Saze replied. "Not even your closest guards are as dedicated as Huluhot's minions are."

"Fine. Do as you please. Just tell me who your friend is." Zed replied as a woman stood behind Elizabeth. Revlovers covered her body and her iron eyes looked upon Elizabeth. Her gear was obviously from the Core country and as Olga stared at Elizabeth she just mumbled something.

"You wemorked for Lee prior to this didn't you?"

Steele seemed to be amused by this situation. "Well who do you believe did it? It is obviously the Federation's technology but if you believe they are in cooperation with another entity than speak your mind. Someone has poisoned people all I am looking for is who and I could end your city without setting foot in it." Steele watched the two.

Liquid just pressed his back against the vehicle and waited for the man's response.

"I was a part of a special task force which fought against the league. We weren't necessarily Core or Federation but a part of the Seperatists that seceded from the League during the war. I was helped to be created as a way to fight the enhanced soldiers that were against us. I was a saboteur and helped my unit team eliminate hostiles and enemies. When the war took a horrid turn and our land eventually became the borders the last of my team split and headed for the assassins and city of thieves while one of my superiors created what was known as the Sienta and I helped him build it. After he interfered with who he believed was wrong for this world we eventually became hunted by the scientist who created us. While most people went insane or died of complications others of us got stronger or gained even stranger abilities. It was how I was captured by Strange. I don't believe I have been on this planet as long as you but I can hold my own."

The Haggard just breathed slowly as it looked around a bit anxiously. Scuffles and moans were heard around them. The invasion of the city had seemed to be halted and on the far side of the large cave the sound of gunfire was rampant but were they walked was through the part of the city which was hit first and the hardest. A large League ship hung through the roof. Sparks exploding from it as debris fell as it moved. This part of the city was mostly in shambles but it hadn't stopped those from resisting occupation from the League.

Haggard began to pull at some of the sharp objects of its body.

"Which would you prefer?" Lee looked at the man. "A well rounded, financially stable life. Or the promise of something good once you die?"

"This is one of Lee's generals." Elizabeth said. "Olga. She's quick, smart and deadly."

"Have you heard of 'The Five'?" The man asked.

Ayama looked down at the boy. "Are your wings good for anything?"

"Religion is seen by the common as true, by the wise as false and by the powerful as useful." Saze replied. "It isn't even a contest of what you offer! An eternity of life of happiness is any man's dreams because we drastically fear non existence. We all fear death and a promise of seeing loved ones soothes everyone. If I was a part of the common of course I would follow a deity because you can't give them what they want most. Huluhot can and if his religious texts say absurd things like discrimination against genders or hatred against homosexuals it wouldn't matter. If it helped them accomplish a dream they will blindly follow."

"I believe you are at a severe disadvantage here. Your troops are loyal but not blind. They wouldn't commit to suicide bombings as easily as Huluhot's men would. Of course I don't know how you will handle this situation but it isn't targeted at you as of yet. By the way... I kinda knew this day would come." He replied as the door opened and Olga walked into the room. "I created a jobsite clone of her to replace her and continue her activities. I never liked her and knew we would rid her one day. At least I did this in advance."

"My last thoughts on Huluhot is if you want to lessen his power do what Liquid did long ago and help a different religious sect rise to power and create conflict with his people. Causing chaos will radicalize the religion which is easier to hunt them down and individualize them as also commit atrocities against a different religion."

"I don't work for him anymore and using that name isn't safe. Call me Shade. Should be sufficient enough." She replied as she looked over the group. "I hadn't expected you to escape from Radec. A sympathizer informed me he was hunting me next. I escaped well before they could do much but they probablygot away with some of my information."

"Will you care to inform me?" Steele asked as she looked at the man. "Now why would these people be after our people? We hadn't interfered with anything besides some trading and prisoner exchanges." She replied.

The boy nodded as he extended both wings and suddenly clasped them together to create a loud snap. A large piece of metal suddenly dented and spun wildly into the air.

"If I do this, it will be obvious that I fear what the other religion brings." Lee said. "Much like you, I knew a day like this would come and I have my own way of dealing it. See, I have been working in private with a select few people to create my own way of control. We've tested it and it works well." He pulled out some forms and handed it to the other man. "A sickness that only I have a cure for. Trust me, not even the greatest minds could come up with this because there is only once place to get it. My daughter." He looked up. "I've already placed it within the general populous and when they religious that they're god cannnot cure them, reguardless of what they do and that I can. What do you think will happen?" He sighed. "Only flaw is my daughter is gone. This is why I need her back, and soon."

"Oh fuck." Miranda breathed as her eyes widned. She left the area quickly.

"They are a group of five men and women who are the greatest minds this world has ever known. They not only created whats going on with your people, but created it so there is only one cure for it." The man grinned. "And lucky for you, I happen to have stolen knowladge of what the cure is."

"What kind of infomation?" Elizabeth asked.

Ayama grinned. "Well, I was going to get you to fly to my city but this is much better."

"You wouldn't fear the religion you would simply use it to destroy itself." Saze replied as he listened. "Well, people turn towards God during times of crisis..." Saze silenced as Lee mentioned his daughter the disease and the cure. "Olga was very interested of your daughter before she left... I don't suppose you believe there was any way she could get that kind of information? Also, makes sense why your daughter had survived having that serum injected in her by Dram. The disease just mutated her it didn't harm her."

Turk grabbed Miranda and looked at her. "Something wrong?"

Liquid just grinned and crossed his arms. Steele watched warily. "If you wish to share the information I will be in my tent. You better give me some satisfying information because if you don't I will rain enough v2 rockets into that city that the only remnant will be a crater." She warned.

"Just defense mechanics against a league invasion. Its completely useless against ground units but will definitely protect the city from air attacks. Some personal information that won't be much use and notes, journals and pages that include my documentations of battles and the wounded. It is enough to keep them satisfied but I believe I am fine." She replied as she looked at Elizabeth and nodded. "I heard you wish to remain safe so I will be off I must stop Lee."

"I need to keep moving." Miranda said, ripping her arm from his grip.

"Oh it is." The man grinned. "Come closer and I'll tell you."

"She is currently the most valuable person alive." Lee said.

"I have a child. My priority is her." Elizabeth said.

The child covered his body with his wings like a protective casing.

"I would likely rip your throat." Steel replied. "I don't take lightly to challenges and right now you should know your place." She replied as she walked around the man.

"Well now you must have a reason to be afraid of her being in the borders and with people like Ayama, Liquid, Strange, Sienta or anything else could be a problem." Saze replied. "On the topic of Strange do you know the doctor is seeking you out?"

"Go ahead. If you wish not to be involved than I won't pester you." Olga replied.

"I have enough Mad doctors to last me a life time." Lee sighed.

Ayama smiled at him gently.

Elizabeth stepped around her and walked off.

"Her name is Miranda or something. her blood is the key. She's also Lee's kid." The man said

"Well Strange is definitely the oddest of them. I do not understand why he is suddenly interested in you Lee but rest assured. It is probably nothing as of yet." Saze replied.

The boy peeked from behind his wings.

Olga began to talk to the others as Katsu began to wander around the city.

"I'll take her just to piss Lee off." She replied. "Of course I don't take your word all the way but I will search for it on my own time. What does bother me is if Lee is interfering with us I will immediately blockade his country and starve it of resources. If he doesn't reply I will hunt down the rich he bows too and deliver them disemboweled to my crows." She replied as she turned.

"If you think you can do that you're a fool." The man said. "An over confident fool. Thats where you will fail."

Miranda took hold of her friends arm and dragged him away from the camp.

Lee nodded.

Elizabeth sat down with her daughter

Turk followed. "What is wrong?" He asked Miranda as Euchre was dragged away.

"I don't simply think. Do you honestly think the League has just been doing nothing at all as the other nations continued to involve. Where do you think all are resources are going into? I won't spoil the surprise for you but when the day comes all you need to do is look at the sky and it will reveal itself to you and too Lee." Steele replied.

"Well we found some clues on what the League has been up too. The old space station that was created before the war to protect the Union seems to still exist and remain in operable condition. That thing still has the potential to destroy cities in its state and only the League has the technology that secures a line with the program. Some codes must be missing but getting it online will be a challenge but if they accomplish it. You and me will never be safe again." Saze replied.

The boy nodded towards Ayama and his wings touched her arms.

And Alundra walked over to her and offered the two anything to eat. She brought plenty of fruit and vegetables as she sat on the ground next to the two.

"I just..." Miranda gave him a small smile. "We've outstayed our welcome. We're just going to be on our way."

The man just started to laugh. he laughed so much he had to bend over. "And what do you think we've been doing all this time we've known you've been after us? As well as knowing that youre too self obsessed to even listen to reason and logic."

"We're safe." Lee said. "i've known about that station. I've already placed an invisable sheild around the city to protect from anything of that power. Its invisable and we're safe."

"I want you to fly to my city." Ayama told him. "We'll meet you there."

"Thank you." Elizabeth said

Steele walked over to the man and sat upon her knee beside him. She grabbed his head and turned it away from the sun. "You see that area? Its a nearby city called Ret and neighbors the city of thieves. We have rescued as many slaves as we could and all personnel that we believe are innocent have been taken away from the city. All that is left are murderers, traitors and slave makers. Let me see what happens when I decimate any within the city without stepping foot within it."

She replied as she pulled out a keypad. She hid the numbers from her view as she tapped dozens of buttons and finally tossed it onto the ground and destroyed it beneath her foot.

The sky began to glow a soft red as a small tower of light shone in the distance. A sudden flash of light scattered across the camp as fire spread from the bottom of the luminescent tower.

The wind suddenly blew against them fiercely as if carried the people's screams. "That will be just a test and although I was never supposed to reveal it I do need the support of those who once believe it was impossible to harness such power again."

"Well... I don't believe that will be enough. There is one last thing I should tell you Lee. Steele is insane and we have discovered information that the station has a quarter of its fuel cells which still currently work. If she wanted too. She could use the entire thing and collide it against your city." Saze replied. "That would be an amazing sight to see but I wouldn't put it past her."

"You don't need to thank. Just build your strength up." The Alundra replied as she began to levitate juices from some bowls and poured it into their cups. "We are definitely safe here. Not much are interested in the Alundra."

The sky turned red and a tower of light appeared in the distance. The Alundra turned and looked a little perplexed and some Alundra began to exit their houses and see what was happening.

The boy looked at her as if asking: "Where?"

"You're fucking crazy." The man said. "I was meant to find a peaceful solution."

Lee looked at him. "Let her try. The most she could do is destroy the sheild, not my city."
